A book about exploring black male and female sexuality. These poets in this book take you on a journey of eroticism. I got the book because they came on HBO a long time ago and was intrigued to read more. If she still does these shows, I for on...e have put them on my bucket list to go and see. This book has no just poetry, but stories in it as well that will turn you on and open up your eyes to the importance of safe sex. This book has many stories that I would love to talk about them all. But that would ruin the surprise of a very sexual book that I suggest that everyone read. I put together a list of stories and poetries that you would be missing out on if you didn’t read this book. And if the title of these books poetic tales don’t pull you I don’t know what will. I put a star next to my favorite ones that I would love to hear your thoughts on as I know that they made for a steamy read for me and a lesson learned as well. More
This book starts with one of those steamy mysterious scenes that had mind reeling. And to put the cherry on the cake, this man was not your regular joe off the street. Their meeting was fate, well it felt like that to me. Destiny is just getting out... of a divorce and vowed to stayed single and loving it, but all that changed when she met Jacob. First off, this book takes a tailspin by showing you what happened and then turns around and shows you how it happened. It doesn’t stop there though as you see that Jacob has really strong feeling for her from jump street, so much so that he dumps his girlfriend for it. All is not what it seems when a month later, Destiny goes to see him. Jacob tells her one thing, but you are quickly shown to each other. You would think that is reason enough, but love has a way of always pulling these two together. Now at first, I felt like Jacob was all talk and lots of sex, but as I continued to read it. You see that he was really trying to bare his soul to Destiny and she was falling just as hard. Except Destiny was reluctant to really listen to her heart and her mind was really in control. More
I agree and disagree with this read because even though I believe that love conquers on. I am questioning if young love is really that strong. I felt like I walked through the twilight zone and was reading about the problems that puppy ...love has, but I was clearly mistaken. It was more of a tale about going after your dreams and following your heart as best you can. It had tales of friendships that were gained and broken. And unique set a character who each in a way had to grow in order to not just get what they want but learn how to come to terms with who they are and how they love. Lankenua is a teenage girl who is uprooted from her home in Africa by her parents and is flown all the way to the US of A, where she goes to school at Gramby High and runs her parents store part time. The story was really all over the place for me and was really one of those books that I would pick up for a few day and put it right back down for the same amount. It was story that intrigued me in the love factor, but was losing me at ti...mes when it came to the character development. The plot of the story had its moments where you are moving from one scene to the next very quickly. All in all, my nose was in this book when it had the chance. You meet Rico and Rockwell who live in the H in Illinois. These two are together and have their own hustles in away. Their relationship is really on and off and in secret due to Rockwell’s uncle Marcel. Rico works for Rockwell’s uncle and I got to say that is grimy. Rockwell well she is a different breed of hustle and is good at boosting stuff from stores. How they met was out of the ordinary because Rico thought she was fine as wine but never saw her approaching him. More

The drama continues to unfold in Gangsta Divas by Denesha Diamond. I don't know how long we are going to keep this up, but I'm always hyped up when another Diva book comes out. Of course, all your favorite characters are back and are co...ming back more ruthless than ever when it comes to being on top of the street game. The one gang, the cripettes make an appearance in this book and you actually get a few questions answered. Willow is making a statement, Leshelle gets what she always wanted, and Tashara is letting her love for Profit rule all. The book picks up right where the Street Divas left off and Lucifer's life is flipped upside down when one minute she is professing her love and the next she is losing her love and gaining some hope at the same time. With Fat Ace gone, there is a power struggle between Lucifer and her brother, but that doesn't last long because Lucifer is not having it. She knows she controls all the power of the Vice Lords and she is not about to fight for it. Her brother does take too long trying to realize that. More
The girls are back, well almost all of them. We are more centered on Shayla and what her life has become since her split with Titus and Lissa who is her best friend, now. And I got to say, she really ended up on top and was really showing... it in the beginning of this books. On this trail of finding herself, she went back to school and is a doctor. I know pretty cool right, but that wasn't even the best part. She got remarried to the wonderful Antonio Davis and if you don't know who that is then I suggest you go back to the first book and see what I am talking about. She has a son named Tyler and her life is really good and you would think nothing would go wrong, well it does. It all starts with annual conference that she and her best friend Lissa have to go to. Meanwhile, you find out that Rhonda is back in town with disturbing new. Shayla ends up learning that Rhonda is one of her patients she tells her husband who is against it from the start. He slowly starts to open up about the whole thing later on. Lissa and Shayla end up going to the conference where Lissa meets a man named Seth and instant sparks flew and remained through most of the story. You also see this creepy dude named Tom stalking Shayla for some hidden reason of his own. More
Once again, Mr. Lewis dropped some insightful knowledge on me and this was one for the record books because I did not see that coming at all. When I first heard what his problem was I wondering what the problem was, most women would kill for that. Bu...t then, you broke it down and I saw it for what it was and learned that people have different experiences with this problem. What I really loved about the book was that you didn't see it through his eyes, but through a young lady that was having a bad string of luck in that area. You meet Michelle Larsen personally and when I say that I mean she is letting you walk in her shoes and experience her journey as she is going through it. You see her dating life and let me tell you, it's not all that good. In fact, it's really bad ranging in going the wrong direction and just way to smelly for me. You want to know more about her rejects then go ahead and click on my store to read for yourself. She later on realizes that she needs to give the men population a break and work on herself. More
This was actually the first book and the one that I should have been reading before His Wicked Seduction. So this is how it went down in the beginning. You meet Emily Parr who is desperate to find a husband on her own so that she can get ...away from her uncle and the person her uncle has a debt to, Blankenship. While riding, she ends up getting kidnapped by the League of Rogues and one of them has a pretty solid reason for doing this. When Emily comes to she finds herself in a home that is not her own and realizes that she is not going anywhere. That doesn't stop her from realizing how hard this man can be and also how soft. What I loved about Godric is that he was very blunt at the same time respectful. Don't get it twisted he does want her but he's respectful enough to not let it go too far. Being held in that house does not help Emily, it actually ruins her because of the Leagues reputation. Emily eventually ends up meeting all the Rogues and starts to have turmoil in her mind about how she is going to get out of this situation at the same time she is slightly comfortable around them. Godric is having a hard time trying to seduce her, but he finds himself wanting as something more than mistress. More
"Cry Me Freedom" Beautiful faces wrecked with pain.... The pain of being stripped of the pride that carries the head high..... The pain that weakens the once strong voice that would shout across the land for this I stand.....The pain that closes the ...bright eyes that were open wide...... The same eyes to witness evil lurking behind sheets and fire riding through quiet streets....The same eyes to view men, women, boys, and girls stripped of the right to live free...... The pain stretches beyond the limits of what the eye can see, moving the soul in places deep.... Rising frustration now screaming this word from city roof tops and open roads through valleys with no paved streets "Freedom" Tears now flowing in bitter relief, as the caged emotion is allowed release...... Slowly the once broken spirit captures a new breath of life..... The back once bowed in misery, now upright as... More
Peace. Yo, I'm back with part 2 of my blog on the "The Right Thing To Do". Instead of a brotha writing another article I decided to produce a documentary film on police brutality and due process reform. At first I was going to leave the subject alone. I put in my 2 cents on how people should conduct themself with the cops but in March of this year I met a sista, Antwynette Houston of Louisville Kentucky. I read her article on another social media site. After reading her story I was shocked to find out how serious her case was. What looked like a local parking infraction turned into an attempted abduction from an off duty Louisville Police officer. Mrs. Houston suffered a seriously dislocated shoulder injury from the officer. It's been over a year and she's still in litigations with Louisville Metro Police. ...
