The Soulful Giving Foundation will host their fourth annual Artful Giving Blanket Concert on Saturday, July 27th on the beautiful grounds of Junki and Linda Yoshida’s private estate along the Sandy River in Troutdale, with KPTV-12 News and Weather Reporter Andy Carson presiding as Master of Ceremonies. I live on the fourth floor of an over-priced pre-war building one block from the Atlantic Ocean. I love the sea. On Saturday, as I had done almost everyday for the past three months, I went into the ocean at Brighton Beach. Temperature was sixty-three degrees inside and outside on the shore. I gazed with love at my ocean. I feel it even healed my stenosis I had had for the past three months,soothi ng my back with its steady wet loving. If you go with the current you can learn so much about life. The healing balms massaged my spirit. My soul swam in horizontal delight to the tranquil shore. At sixty something, I often thought of that 'long slow swim to China.' It does seem like an honorable way to go,(better than a bullet or a messy jump off the Verrazano) attached to my trusty goggles while drifting ever...

      Using a fundraising site provided by the internet (Indiegogo.com) I set a goal of $2500 to assist me in the publishing and distribution of my second book. The allotted time to reach this goal was 90 days and as of today (5/20/2012) I have only recieved a contribution of $20. Of that 90 day span I now have 30 days left to have a successful campaign, not going to happen. My ignorance of how to plan a promising fundraiser has become an experience and well taught lesson for me.
